Fishing spots
When historian Professor Geoffrey Blainey coined the phrase ‘the tyranny of distance’ about geography’s role in shaping Australia, he could have been writing about fishing in this great land. It is simply too vast a continent with far too many angling opportunities to experience in one lifetime. Still, to paraphrase fishing writer Steve Cooper, you may not get to fish all the places you’d like, but you can have fun trying!
Whether it’s a barramundi bonanza in Kakadu National Park, serious game-fishing off Portland, or Albany’s legendary salmon run, your angling travels around Australia are sure to be worth writing home about.
